- Information Requested
Please provide any documents related to the provision of casualty care kits on operational vehicles and any other first aid kits. I am interested in whether tamper seal tags are fitted, post user check procedure and inspection regimes
- Response
The Scottish Ambulance Service does not routinely utilise any other tamper proof seals on the equipment or bags in operational vehicles, other than that fitted as by the manufactures e.g. oxygen bottles, medicine pouches, or the standard packaging on sterile products.
Crews will carry out a visual daily inspection (VDI) of the equipment on the vehicles - seals on medicines pouches will not be broken, unless they have been previously opened - but the date an integrity of pouch checked.
All other equipment (including that in open medicine pouches) will be given a visual inspection for expiry date and the integrity of the manufactures packaging.
Further information, including the Vehicle and Equipment Check Sheets, can be found on our website under FOI 24-448 - FOI 24-448 Packing List for Vehicles and Response Bags
