Please see the attached sheet detailing incidents that had the final code of Cardiac/Respiratory Arrest or Chest Pains. From 01/01/2015-31/12/2024. There are three tabs, each tab has a breakdown of the category of cardiac incidents broken down monthly separated into the age groups requested above.
It is important to note when interpreting this data – This report has been produced in three parts, this is due to the change in systems from 2015-2024.
This data cannot be merged into one table due to an overlap in a phased introduction of each system and the methodology for the data time frames is different.
The first tab of the sheet takes data collected from our legacy system; this covers incidents from 01/2015 - 02/2018 (monthly).
The second tab of the sheet details data collected from 10/2017 (monthly) to present Day.
The third tab details data collected from 05/2024 (monthly) - this system is currently being phased in with limited implementation, there may be data that overlaps with the data in the second tab.
For the given data, you will see that some of the figures are shown as, five or less than five, please note that this figure has been suppressed because the statistical value is less than five. The Scottish Ambulance service has a duty, under the Data Protection Act to avoid directly or indirectly revealing any personal details. It is therefore widely understood that provision of statistics on small numbers, five or less are statistically suppressed upon disclosure.
