Please tell me how many time ambulance crews had their 1st meal break disturbed and or missed in 2024. Please tell me how many times ambulance crews had their 2nd meal break disturbed and or missed in 2024.
How many times were crews kept late after the end of their shift in 2024. How much was the overtime bill for all operational crews in 2024. What was the fuel bill for all ambulance Road vehicles in 2024

- Between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2024 there were 10,948 instances where a 1st rest break was recorded as disturbed in the SAS system. Of those 9,204 were recorded as being resolved (the crew were able to take the remaining part of their break).
- Between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2024 there were 4,744 instances where a 1st rest break was not recorded in the system as having started.
- Between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2024 there were 3,786 instances where a 2nd rest break was recorded as disturbed in the SAS system. Of those 2,104 were recorded as being resolved (the crew were able to take the remaining part of their break)
- Between 1st January 2024 and 31st December 2024 there were 16,609 instances where a 2nd rest break was not recorded in the system as having started.
Please note that the data is held against the TOTAL number of breaks and not against the number of crews (we do not hold this information against ambulance crews).
Another factor to explain is the total number of breaks are accumulative, and an ambulance crew may or may not have 1 or 2 breaks within a working shift. Data is against the number of breaks, not started, meaning a crew may have had one break and not the other, or none at all.
The total overtime paid to operational crews in 2024 was £17,162,012; this is inclusive of Paramedics, Technicians, Nurses, Ambulance Care Assistants.
The fuel costs for 2024 was £8,778,225 – this is inclusive of ALL service vehicles.
