Thank you for your email and in response we are trying to establish what Ventilators the Ambulance Services and Hospitals are using if any, so perhaps all of the questions are not valid for your Ambulance Service.
So are you able please to provide responses to the following questions:
- Which mechanical ventilators are currently on your ambulances?
- Please provide the make, model, and age of the current mechanical transport ventilators used within your trust.
- Please provide the contact details (name, job title, and email/telephone) of the lead clinical person overseeing the use of mechanical transport ventilation within your trust.
- Please provide the name and contact details of the technician responsible for overseeing the usage and maintenance of these ventilators within your trust.
- Response
The Scottish Ambulance Service does not carry ventilators in our ‘standard’ A&E vehicles.
The ScotSTAR branch of the Scottish Ambulance Service does utilise these within their adult and paediatric teams. Please see the attached sheet detailing the information requested in question 2.
Q3-Q4 – Names and contact details are considered personal information and is exempt for release under section 38(1b) of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002. General enquiries can be sent to the Scottish Ambulance Service via our General Enquiries form, and this will be passed to the appropriate department.
