I am reaching out to highlight concerns about the condition of roads on Islay and Jura and their potential impact on ambulance response times.
To better understand the severity of the issue, I would like to request:
- Any records of delays caused by poor road conditions on these islands.
- Any formal assessments or concerns raised by ambulance crews about road accessibility.

The Scottish Ambulance Service does not have a category to report on delays that may have occurred due to road conditions. There have also not been any formal assessments or concerns raised by staff regarding road conditions or accessibility.
It is for this reason we have applied section 17 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 as information not held.
It is important to note – the Scottish Ambulance Service utilises 4x4 emergency vehicles to negotiate single track roads and can drive these off-road if required to reach any incidents.
