Response

Q1)  A copy of the Scottish Ambulance Services’ Uniform policy is available on our website under previous FOI 24-471  Uniform Policy, this includes SORT rankings.

Q2)  We are withholding this information as the information requested is considered to be sensitive and therefore exempt under Section 31 (1) national security and defence. Under Section 31(1), ‘information is exempt information if exemption from disclosure is required for the purpose of safeguarding national security.’ Section 31 of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act, is subject to the public interest test. There is a very strong public interest in preventing the SAS information systems from being subject to primary or secondary (supply chain) cyber-attacks. Providing the type of information requested and subsequent online publication, would very likely provide potential attackers with useful intelligence relating to the HART or call signs and possible exposure through third parties, which is not in the public interest.

Q3)  Please see attached organisational chart for the Scottish Ambulance Service’s resilience team.  All names and portfolios have been exempt for release under section 38 1(b) of the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002, as personal information.
