Equality Impact Assessments
Equality is not about treating everyone the same, but recognising that everyone is different and has different needs. In a health context treating everyone the same does not lead to equal health outcomes; everyone should have equal health chances, for example in access to health services.
Equality impact assessments ensure our efforts to improve our service and practice are embraced and are fully utilised and effective as well as being fair.
