Scheduled Care service completes nearly 8 million journeys

Nearly 8 million hospital journeys have been completed by our Scheduled Care staff in the past 12 years – a fantastic achievement by the team.

The Scottish Ambulance Service’s Scheduled Care Service provides invaluable support to communities across Scotland, Offering support from our trained ambulance staff to thousands of patients to their healthcare appointments.
Since 2012, 7,783,317 journeys have been completed.

Sam Ritchie, SAS’s Head of Scheduled Care, said: “We are proud of all our Scheduled Care staff, which includes our Ambulance Control Centres and Operational staff, for the incredible work they do.

“They are a lifeline for communities ensuring those members of the public who require our support services can get to and from hospital for vital appointments.

“I’d like to give a big thanks to all of our staff for the work they do behind the scenes who provide an invaluable service to the country.”
